Milano Libri

Milano libri is a book store that was opened in 1962 in Milan, next to the famous Teatro alla Scala. This is a real old style bookstore, which bibliophiles always look for and honestly don't find very often.

Since its opening Milano libri has been not only a book store but also a center of interest and a place of gathering together for its clients around the globe. Besides a careful selection and vast variety of books about fashion and art, one of the best things about Milano libri is that with its historical staff, it offers a real valuable advice for book lovers. Wouldn't you prefer to talk to someone who actually "read" the books he/she sells? When you talk about a book he/she remembers another one and runs to bring it to you because you shouldn't miss it? Someone who passionately talks about books and doesn't see them as a commodity?

A library is a magical place for me, I always dreamed of working in one. I always thought that it can be one of those places where you can actually synchronize your passion and your profession. In Milano libri, Vanda and Alessandro gave me this impression, of working without working, cause they love books, they love to talk about books, they love reading and they connect with their clients in such a spontaneous way. Because a shared passion makes the experience a pleasure for everyone.

From Milano libri I bought a few interesting books, all in Italian. Here below their names:

  • La vestaglietta, una storia tra erotismo e moda, Elda Danese

  • Viaggare con la moda, i racconti itineranti: Elsa Haertter

  • Il sarto di Picasso: Luca Masia

  • Psicoanalisi della moda: Eugenié Lemoine-Luccioni

Vanda and Alessandro, suggested me many other books but since I was traveling I couldn't buy heavy ones. Though I really appreciated their willingness to suggest and spend more time, even if they knew I couldn't buy them. I promised I would come back and will sure keep my promise.

A sincere thanks to them.
